Documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice appear to trace the rise — and possible end — of a long-running connection between Jeffrey Epstein and supermodel Naomi Campbell over the final two decades of Epstein’s life.
According to the records, Epstein and Campbell communicated over the years by phone and email, met in person, and at times invited one another to social events. The documents reference messages exchanged either directly by the two or through their assistants.
The materials indicate Campbell invited Epstein to multiple gatherings, including her 2004 birthday party in St. Tropez. They also reference invitations sent in 2010 to a party at a Dolce & Gabbana store in Paris marking Campbell’s 25 years with the brand, and to a NEON event in Moscow that she co-hosted with Dasha Zhukova, then married to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
Those 2010 invitations were sent about a year after Epstein’s release from jail following a guilty plea to soliciting a minor. In an email circulating details for the Paris event, someone on Campbell’s team wrote: “I will be on the door if there are any problems.”

The Moscow gathering was described in an invitation as connected to NEON, a charity intended to support children’s health and education programs in Russia, and occurred while Epstein was still under house arrest.
The bulk of the DOJ release related to Campbell consists of call sheets, schedules and emails maintained by Epstein’s assistants during that period, including Sarah Kellen and Lesley Groff. In one email dated May 29, 2015, Groff wrote to Epstein: “Please call Naomi Campbell. She is in Spain but she is up.”
Earlier messages show assistants reaching out to coordinate potential meetings during Epstein’s travel. In a Sept. 27, 2011 email, Kellen wrote to Campbell that Epstein was in Paris and asked if she was nearby. Another email the following March — sent by someone whose name was redacted — said that Epstein and the sender were in Paris “with Woody Allen” and wondered if Campbell was in town and interested in dinner.
The tone of some communications suggests familiarity between Campbell and Epstein’s staff. In one message Groff relayed to Epstein, Campbell is quoted writing that she wanted to see him before leaving, while also mentioning travel plans and an injury.
The files also include emails described as friendly exchanges between Campbell and Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate. Campbell and Maxwell had previously been photographed together at fashion events in New York.
The last recorded communications in the released documents involving Campbell appear to come from January 2016 and revolve around a request to use Epstein’s private jet. Emails indicate that on Jan. 21, 2016, Campbell left a message asking Epstein to call her about using the plane later that month. The records suggest Epstein had already left town, and he allegedly instructed someone to tell her he needed to fly out because of the weather.

In a subsequent email, an unnamed person told Epstein that Campbell had called back multiple times, saying she had made arrangements and believed the plan would work. The message added that she was hoping he would call her. Epstein then directed his pilot, Larry Visoski, to try to find Campbell a charter. On Jan. 26, an email says the unnamed person reached out to Campbell to arrange a meeting and express hope that “everything worked out,” but received no response. Another message the next day said repeated calls, texts and emails to Campbell went unanswered.
It has long been public that Campbell was acquainted with Epstein. In 2010, reports and flight records indicated she traveled on his private aircraft multiple times, and one of Epstein’s pilots later confirmed that during a deposition. Later unsealed court records added further details about Campbell’s early links to Epstein, including that they met in 2001 in St. Tropez during her birthday celebrations, which were also attended by Maxwell and — according to previously released materials — Virginia Giuffre, who has accused Epstein and Maxwell of trafficking and abuse.

The newest DOJ release also indicates Campbell was listed among the people on Epstein’s “friend list” while he was serving time in Florida.
Campbell’s attorney, Martin Singer, did not respond to requests for comment referenced in the reporting tied to these documents. Campbell has previously condemned Epstein’s actions, saying in a 2019 statement that what he did was “indefensible,” that learning about it made her sick, and that she stood with victims. She also said she had encountered predators in her own life and was grateful to have had people around her who protected her.
