Kylie Kelce has officially introduced the newest member of the Kelce family, ending weeks of speculation regarding a “new Kelce” addition.
On the March 31 episode of her Wave Originals series, FAFO—an extension of her Not Gonna Lie podcast—the mother of four revealed she has adopted a German Shepherd puppy named Bernadette from the Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA).
The announcement follows a series of teasers from Kelce, who recently informed her audience that the family would soon grow. The arrival of “Bernadette” adds to a bustling household that includes her husband, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, and their four children: Wyatt, 6; Elliotte, 5; Bennett, 3; and Finn, 1.
The adoption highlights a playful but persistent domestic “negotiation” over the family’s pet roster. Kelce disclosed that she had initially filmed the episode six weeks prior but recorded a new conclusion to reflect the surprise adoption.
Before the reveal, Kelce addressed her husband’s known resistance to expanding their animal brood.

“Jason does know that I’m here today. We did discuss whether or not he would be peeved if I came home with an animal,” Kelce said during the episode. “When I said rate how mad on a scale of one to 10, he said 10.”
Ultimately, the allure of the PSPCA rescues proved too strong. Kelce closed the episode holding the puppy, jokingly remarking, “Someone let me loose in a rescue and this is what happened.”
While Bernadette has found a home, the Kelce “cat saga” remains unresolved. The couple has publicly debated the merits of feline ownership for months. On an October episode of Not Gonna Lie, Jason Kelce jokingly stated his preference for getting a cat was “never,” later suggesting a compromise for an “outdoor cat.”
Kylie Kelce confirmed that while she met several kittens during her PSPCA visit, the family is not yet ready for a cat. However, she signaled that the debate is far from over.
“It’s a work in progress, guys,” she told viewers. “I’m gonna keep chipping away at it.”
The adoption of Bernadette marks a significant win for Kylie in the ongoing household pet debate, even if it wasn’t the feline addition she has been advocating for.
