U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Saturday that all federal charges against Dr. Kirk Moore — the Utah plastic surgeon accused of destroying COVID-19 vaccines and distributing fake vaccination cards — have been dismissed.
“At my direction, @TheJusticeDept has dismissed charges against Dr. Kirk Moore,” Bondi posted on X. “Dr. Moore gave his patients a choice when the federal government refused to do so. He did not deserve the years in prison he was facing. It ends today.”
Dr. Moore had been on trial this week, facing potentially decades behind bars after being indicted in 2023. Federal prosecutors alleged he destroyed over $28,000 worth of government-issued COVID vaccines and helped parents falsely immunize children by issuing fraudulent CDC vaccination cards.
Political Support and Backlash
Bondi’s decision was immediately praised by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., who had lobbied the DOJ earlier this week to dismiss the case.
“Thank you AG Pam Bondi for dropping the WRONGFUL charges against Dr. Kirk Moore!” Greene wrote. “We can never again allow our government to turn tyrannical under our watch. This is a big win!”
Bondi credited Greene directly: “This would not have been possible without @RepMTG, who brought the case to my attention. She’s been a warrior for Dr. Moore and for ending the weaponization of government.”
Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also previously applauded Moore’s actions, saying in April that the doctor “deserves a medal for his courage and his commitment to healing.”
DOJ Under Scrutiny on Multiple Fronts
The decision to drop charges comes as Bondi faces pressure from within the Trump administration, with allies divided over the Justice Department’s controversial handling of the Jeffrey Epstein file release.
On Sunday, the DOJ and FBI issued a joint statement declaring there was no “Epstein client list” and reaffirmed that Epstein died by suicide — a conclusion met with public skepticism. Surveillance video used to support the official version of events reportedly has a one-minute gap, intensifying suspicions of a cover-up.
Rift Between Bondi and Bongino
According to sources, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is considering resigning following a heated confrontation with Bondi over the Epstein investigation. He has not returned to the FBI office since Wednesday.
Fox News Digital was told Bongino is “weighing his options” amid ongoing backlash and internal friction.
Trump Weighs In
Despite the controversy, the White House continues to back Bondi.
“President Trump is proud of Attorney General Bondi’s efforts to execute his Make America Safe Again agenda, restore the integrity of the Department of Justice, and bring justice to victims of crime,” said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. “Speculation designed to stir division in this Cabinet is baseless.”
