Rachel Booth, 38, was last seen early July 19 in Barnton, Northwich. Police say formal identification of the body is pending but believe it to be hers.

A body has been found in a lake amid the search for Rachel Booth, a 38-year-old mother of three who was reported missing after she was last seen at a gas station in the early hours of Saturday, July 19, in northwest England.

Booth was last spotted by her family in Barnton, a village near Northwich, and was later seen around 3:50 a.m. at a Shell gas station along the A556—approximately five miles away. She reportedly purchased wine and milk after jogging there, according to a station employee.

Cheshire Police confirmed in a statement Monday that they had “sadly recovered a body” from a lake in Oakmere, Delamere, where search efforts had been concentrated over the weekend. The body has not yet been formally identified, but officers said it is believed to be Booth.

Her family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. Authorities say there are no signs of foul play. “A file will be prepared for the coroner,” the police added.

Booth had been described as 5’9″, slim, with blonde hair, and was believed to be wearing black leggings and a black top at the time of her disappearance. Police had said they were “becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare,” and had been working with Cheshire Search and Rescue and the Underwater Search Team to scour the Oakmere and surrounding areas.

Two underwater units were seen Monday morning near Delamere Lake Holiday Park, prompting nearby Wild Shore Delamere water park to temporarily close. “The incident is unrelated to Wild Shore — however, we wish to help as much as possible,” the park said in a statement, adding that it would remain closed through at least Tuesday.

Superintendent Paul Hughes thanked local businesses for their cooperation during the search. He also urged anyone with information about Booth’s movements since her disappearance to contact police.

Booth leaves behind three children. Formal identification of the body is expected in the coming days.
