A 13-year-old girl in England has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 55-year-old woman in Swindon, about an hour west of London.
The victim, Sarah Forrester, was found dead at her home on Friday, Nov. 21, according to Wiltshire Police.
Officers responded to a report of a “disorder” at a residential address at around 7 p.m. that evening. When they arrived, they found Forrester unresponsive and not breathing. She was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
A teenage girl was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody for questioning. She was later released on bail on Sunday, Nov. 23, while detectives continue their investigation, police said.
Because she is a minor, the girl’s identity has not been publicly released. Authorities have not disclosed how she may have known Forrester or the cause of Forrester’s death.
Forrester, a mother of two, worked as a mental health counselor at The Kelly Foundation in Swindon, according to the organization’s website.
In a statement shared on Facebook, the foundation said staff were “heartbroken at the sudden loss of our lovely Sarah,” adding that she was deeply committed to the charity and devoted to her two young children.
Neighbors also described Forrester as a warm and generous presence in the community. A 15-year-old boy named Jayden told the BBC that Forrester was a “well known” figure in the neighborhood, where she had lived for the past seven years.
“She was a really nice lady, she would put everyone else before herself,” he said.
