Influencer Mike Holston, widely known online as “The Real Tarzann,” has been hospitalized following a skydiving accident.

Holston, 32, shared an update on Instagram on Saturday, Dec. 27, posting a photo from a hospital gurney. His right leg was heavily bandaged, and his neck appeared to be in traction.

The outdoor adventure and wildlife content creator, who has amassed millions of followers across social media, revealed the incident in the caption. “Yesterday I had a skydiving 🪂 accident,” he wrote.

“I’ll probably be out for a few weeks,” Holston added. “I’m pretty banged up at the moment in some pretty good pain, but just happy to be alive 🙏🏾.”

He told followers that he plans to release a full video explaining what went wrong. “I know a lot of y’all want to see me down, but don’t count on it too long 😎 enjoy while you can!” he added.

In a series of follow-up videos posted to his Instagram Stories, Holston shared more details about his condition. “Gettin’ there. Getting better,” he said when asked about his pain level.

“I was messed up for like three hours. I couldn’t even breathe. My chest was killing me,” he explained in another clip.

Despite the severity of the accident, Holston reassured fans that he expects to recover. “What’s up family? Thank God all is well. They didn’t get me off this Earth today,” he said. “Nothing to worry about — just another rough day in the office. I love you all, and hopefully we’ll see you soon.”

The Miami-based influencer has drawn international attention in recent months for his controversial content. In September, Holston faced widespread criticism during a trip to Australia after posting a video of himself jumping from a boat and chasing a freshwater crocodile.

The footage quickly went viral and sparked backlash from conservationists, including the local advocacy group Community Representation of Crocodiles (CROC), which labeled the stunt “illegal” and “dangerous.”

Bob Irwin, conservationist and father of the late Steve Irwin, also condemned the behavior, saying tourists who disrespect Australia’s wildlife should be “booted out the door,” per the BBC. He further criticized social media for “glorifying” risky interactions with animals, warning that such content can have serious consequences for both people and wildlife.

Holston defended himself in the comments of one of his videos, stating that he did not encourage others to recreate his actions. He also said he released the crocodile after briefly interacting with it and taking photos, according to the BBC.
