Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Announce Their Engagement, 3 Years After GMA Scandal

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are officially engaged.

The former GMA3: What You Need to Know anchor, 52, and journalist, 48, shared the news during the Oct. 14 episode of their Amy & T.J. podcast.

“We are sharing with all of you that we are engaged and we’ve been engaged for just about a month now,” Robach revealed.

Holmes added, “We wanted to let you all know before anybody else was able to. We’ve learned that lesson, I guess, in the past about our relationship.”

He also teased Robach for proudly showing off her ring. “You’ve been dangling a ring in everybody’s face every chance you could, and nobody said a word,” Holmes joked.

Robach laughed as she explained, “I was in three massive football stadiums three weekends in a row, wearing my engagement ring very proudly, very excitedly, and kept waiting for somebody to point it out or ask me, ‘Hey, what’s that?’ And it never happened.”

“And if people saw it, maybe they were just being polite,” she added.

Robach recalled almost revealing their secret engagement on social media until Holmes pointed out her ring was clearly visible in the photo. “So I decided not to post it because I didn’t want that to be what the photo was about,” she said.

Holmes chimed in, saying, “We were intimately engaged with friends, very close people, for the past three weekends. All of them are gonna think back and go, ‘Oh my god, how did we miss it?’ ”

The couple said they plan to share details about “how it all went down” in a future episode but, for now, have been celebrating with family.

Robach and Holmes first sparked dating rumors in November 2022. Their romance drew attention because Robach was married to actor Andrew Shue and Holmes to attorney Marilee Fiebig at the time. Both later finalized their divorces before continuing their relationship publicly.

After moving in together, the pair hit several relationship milestones. Robach — previously married to Tim McIntosh, with whom she shares daughters Ava and Annalise — discussed her vision for her third wedding on a February 2024 episode of the podcast.

She said she preferred something small and intimate: “Justice of the peace. Vegas.”

Holmes joked, “Is there a justice of the peace in Vegas? I thought only Elvis did them … That’s where you want to have it?”

Robach continued, “I really would want it to be a very intimate gathering. And I would absolutely run off and elope somewhere.”

“If I had to pick, I’d pick eloping and going to Fiji or somewhere really nice and far away,” she added.
