Angelina Jolie, the famous actress, is ready to sell her historic house in Los Angeles.

A source told PEOPLE that the 50-year-old star plans to put the house up for sale because she is thinking about moving to another country. Page Six was the first to share this news.

The source also said Jolie never really wanted to live in Los Angeles all the time. She stayed because of a custody agreement with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, 61.

Angelina and Brad, who finalized their divorce in December 2024 after fighting for eight years, share six children: Maddox (24), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19), and twins Knox and Vivienne (17).

The source added that Jolie plans to move once the twins turn 18 next year. She is looking at different places outside the U.S. and said she will be very happy to leave Los Angeles.

Jolie’s Los Angeles home is very special. The source described it as a historic and beautiful estate.

Another insider said Angelina will sell the house after making some small improvements.

Jolie bought the house in 2017 for $24.5 million. The big home has six bedrooms and ten bathrooms and is 11,000 square feet in size.

This house has Hollywood history. It was first bought by director Cecil B. DeMille in 1916 for less than $28,000. Charlie Chaplin once lived nearby, and after he left, DeMille bought and combined both properties.

Angelina talked about why she still lives in L.A. in a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She said she stays there because of her divorce but hopes to leave soon.

She explained that when you have a large family, you want privacy, peace, and safety, which she feels Los Angeles can’t fully offer.

After she leaves, Jolie said she will spend a lot of time in Cambodia, where she adopted her oldest son Maddox in 2002. She also plans to visit family members around the world.

Angelina said Cambodia is the place she feels is truly her home.
