An intense manhunt is underway after a married couple was brutally killed while hiking with their two young daughters at Devil’s Den State Park in northwest Arkansas on Saturday afternoon.

According to Arkansas State Police, Clinton Brink, 43, and his wife Cristen Brink, 41, were found dead on a remote trail within the state park around 2:40 p.m. The couple’s two daughters, ages 9 and 7, were unharmed and are now in the care of family members.

Authorities say the Brinks had only recently relocated to Prairie Grove, Arkansas, from out of state.

Details of the Suspect and Ongoing Search

Law enforcement has released a description of the suspect, who remains at large. He is described as a white male of medium build, wearing a long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up, dark pants, a dark baseball cap, sunglasses, and fingerless gloves. The man was carrying a black backpack at the time of the incident.

Investigators believe the suspect was seen driving a black, four-door sedan—possibly a Mazda—with tape obscuring the license plate. The vehicle was reportedly spotted heading toward a park exit and may have been traveling along State Route 170 or 220.

Police describe the park as a challenging area for both visitors and search teams, noting its “remote and rugged terrain, dense vegetation, and lack of cellphone service.”

Officials Respond to Tragedy

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at Devil’s Den State Park,” said Shea Lewis, Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism. “Our hearts are with the victims’ loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
