The Obamas are leaning into the holiday spirit.
In Christmas Day posts on X, former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama shared warm seasonal wishes — each paired with the same photo.
“Merry Christmas!” the 44th president, 64, wrote alongside an image of himself and his wife of 33 years. “Michelle and I hope you have a wonderful holiday filled with light and joy.”
In the picture, the couple beams as they pose in front of three illuminated Christmas trees.
Michelle, 61, is dressed in a lacy black dress layered with a turtleneck shrug sweater, while Barack keeps things relaxed in a khaki bomber-style jacket over a black sweater and slacks.

“Merry Christmas! Barack and I send you our heartfelt wishes for a blessed holiday and joyful start to the new year,” Michelle wrote as she shared the same photo on her X account.
The Obama Foundation also joined in with a festive post and a throwback snapshot of the pair.
“Merry Christmas from the Obama Foundation!” the message read. “May your Christmas be filled with unwrapping new possibilities and the warmth of time spent with your loved ones!”
The couple has made it a tradition to share a holiday message online each year. Michelle recently mentioned on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that their holiday outreach goes well beyond social media — including an unexpectedly huge number of mailed Christmas cards.
During her appearance earlier this month, host Jimmy Kimmel, 58, asked how many cards the family sends annually.
“You know, we checked. It’s over 100,000,” she said, prompting surprise from Kimmel and the audience.
She added that the list includes “friends, family, business people [and] foundation people,” noting it’s their way of thanking a wide circle of people.
Last year, the Obamas and their two daughters — Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24 — marked the season with sentimental posts as well, with Barack sharing a family photo on Instagram and Michelle posting an image of their dog, Sunny.
