Barron Trump may have helped save a woman’s life after reporting what he said looked like an attack during a video call, according to details disclosed at a London court hearing on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
A transcript from the emergency call states that Trump contacted the City of London Police in England on Jan. 18, 2025, saying he was watching a woman being “beat up.” The transcript indicates he placed the call roughly eight minutes after the alleged assault.
On the call, Trump urged officers to respond quickly, saying, “It’s really an emergency, please.” He told the operator he did not know the alleged attacker’s name and later apologized after initially declining to explain how he knew the woman.
The matter was heard at Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on Wednesday, Jan. 21, and continued into Thursday, Jan. 22.
During the hearing, it was alleged that the woman—who has not been identified—was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, Matvei Rumiantsev, a Russian citizen, while Trump was on a video call with her, multiple U.K. outlets including The Times, The Guardian and The Independent reported.

The call to police was made at 2:23 a.m. local time on Jan. 18 of last year, according to The Times. Rumiantsev, 22, allegedly grabbed his former partner’s hair and pushed her to the floor while shouting, “You are not worth anything,” the outlet reported, citing the court hearing.
Rumiantsev has denied assault and actual bodily harm, along with two charges of rape, intentional strangulation and perverting the course of justice, The Times reported.
The Guardian reported that Rumiantsev, of east London, allegedly became jealous of Trump’s communications with the woman and grew angry after trying to call her earlier that evening.
Bodycam footage shown in court reportedly captured police arriving at the woman’s property. She told officers, “I am friends with Barron Trump, Donald Trump’s son,” according to The Guardian. One officer then said, “So apparently this informant from America is likely to be Donald Trump’s son,” the paper reported.
The woman was cross-examined by attorney Sasha Wass during the hearing. She told the court of Trump, “He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment,” according to The Times.

The Times reported that the woman said she had been in a relationship with Rumiantsev for around six months when the alleged attack occurred, and claimed he assaulted her and attempted to strangle her during an argument. The Independent reported she later filed a complaint alleging he raped her twice.
Wass suggested in court that the woman’s account might be fabricated, according to The Guardian. The woman denied that, saying, “I didn’t invent that. That would be completely evil and disgraceful toward people who have been in that situation,” the outlet reported.
Wass and London’s Metropolitan Police declined to comment on the case when contacted. The White House was also contacted for comment.
