Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump and now a 19-year-old student at New York University, hasn’t been seen publicly alongside his father since January 20, 2025—prompting a swirl of unfounded rumors on social media, including false claims about his death.
While such speculation has spread rapidly online, there is no truth to the rumors. Barron Trump is alive and well.
His low public profile appears to be tied to his academic commitments. After graduating from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida, in May 2024, Barron frequently accompanied his father during the campaign trail. But following his enrollment at NYU in the fall of 2024, and with classes starting in January, his visibility diminished—likely due to a full college schedule.
His absence from public events since President Trump’s inauguration as the 47th president in January has further fueled online chatter. Yet, there have been no reports suggesting any issues with his health.
In early July 2025, reports emerged that Barron may be in a relationship. According to NewsNation, which cited an anonymous friend of the President’s son, Barron has a “really nice girlfriend” at NYU and “hangs out with her a lot.”
A source quoted by Newsmax suggested that Barron’s personal life has drawn increased attention to how former First Lady Melania Trump is adjusting to her son’s growing independence. “Barron is much more like his mother, Melania — he keeps his head down and gets on with it. He is not trying to be BMOC (big man on campus),” the source noted.
Although there has been no official confirmation of a relationship, if the reports are accurate, it may help explain why Barron Trump has chosen to stay out of the public eye.
