Former President Joe Biden shared a family photo on Christmas Eve that quickly drew attention online — not for the holiday setting, but for how the image was framed.

In the photo, several members of the Biden family stand in front of a decorated Christmas tree, with Hunter Biden positioned prominently in the foreground. Former first lady Jill Biden stands in front of the former president, partially blocking his face, while the rest of the family appears fully visible in the shot.

Alongside the image, Biden posted: “Wishing you a peaceful and joyful Christmas Eve filled with joy.”

The post itself didn’t mention the composition of the photo, and Biden’s representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

After the image spread on social media, many users focused on Biden’s placement — with some saying it took them a moment to spot him. One person posted a close-up of his face and wrote, “Took me a while to find ya, champ.”

Others questioned why the former president appeared pushed into the background. “I think it’s disrespectful to put the eldest family member in the back of a photo taken for the former president’s social media,” one commenter wrote. Another compared the image to a Where’s Waldo?-style search, asking: “Where’s Joe?”

Some comments also zeroed in on Hunter Biden’s position near the center of the frame. “Hunter is the alpha now,” one person wrote, while others shared edited versions of the photo that added crude alterations or visual jokes.

Not all reactions were negative. Some users responded with holiday well-wishes, including messages wishing Biden and his family a peaceful Christmas Eve and hoping for a more unified new year. Another simply wrote: “Merry Christmas to the whole Biden family!”
