A bride isn’t exactly thrilled about changing her last name after her wedding.

Izzy Trimborn, a TikTok user, shared that she’s less than excited to take her fiancé’s last name — because the combination creates a pretty awkward pun.

“‘Aren’t you excited to take his last name?’” Trimborn wrote in the first slide of her TikTok, showing her and her fiancé, James Inyet, smiling together on a train.

“Not really,” she added, explaining that her new name would become “Izzy Inyet.”

Social media users were quick to react. One person commented, “‘Is he in yet’ is pretty dire,” while another joked that the couple should name their future daughter “Arya.”

Some even suggested that her fiancé could take her last name instead — “Welcome James Trimborn,” one wrote — or that she should just keep her current name.

The choice of whether to take a husband’s name has become more debated in recent years. Some argue the tradition is tied to patriarchal structures, while others say keeping an original name can cause family tension.

One woman on Reddit shared that she chose to keep her last name because of its uniqueness and its connection to her family’s business. But her decision led to conflict when her father-in-law claimed she was “insulting him by rejecting his name,” creating a rift within the family.
