Bride’s Dad’s New Wife Causes Scene at Wedding with ‘Temper Tantrum’

A bride recently shared her frustrating experience on Reddit’s “Wedding Drama” forum after her father’s new wife caused a major scene at her wedding.

The bride explained that she and her siblings, along with most of her father’s relatives, dislike his wife because of her “controlling” and “hurtful” behavior. However, the bride felt forced to invite her, since her father said he wouldn’t come otherwise.

“Any time she doesn’t get her way, she has an ‘outburst,’ and my dad just gives in to her, even when it hurts his kids,” the bride wrote.

The bride’s only request was that her father’s wife not attend the intimate rehearsal dinner, since she didn’t want drama the night before her big day. At first, her father agreed, but just a week before the event, he changed his mind and said he wouldn’t come unless his wife was invited.

“I stood my ground and said I’d see them on the wedding day. That seemed to have set her off…” the bride explained.

On the wedding day, the woman made a bold entrance in a “bright red, sparkly mini dress.” Guests even whispered, asking “who the stripper in the dress was,” the bride recalled.

She then caused problems throughout the event. Before the ceremony, she cried and refused to stand as the bride’s parents walked her down the aisle.

At the cocktail hour, she sulked and avoided joining group family photos, even though she was invited. Later, during dinner, she loudly complained about the food, which offended many older guests. Things escalated when she got into a fight with the bride’s father and even threw her drink at him.

As the night went on, she repeatedly left to drink alcohol in her car, only coming back to cry and sit alone in the corner.

Despite all the chaos, the bride still managed to enjoy her wedding. Now, however, she is wondering whether she should confront her father about his wife’s behavior.

Most commenters advised her not to. Many believe her father already knows how toxic his wife is but chooses to ignore it.
