A family is grieving the loss of a new father who was tragically shot and killed during a golfing trip in Wisconsin.
Giovanni “Mike” Robinson, 32, from Ontario, Canada, was identified as the victim by the Sheboygan Falls Police Department in a press release shared Thursday, Sept. 25.
According to authorities, the shooting occurred Wednesday, Sept. 24, around 12:08 a.m. local time, in the 600 Block of Monroe Street.
No suspect has been identified so far, but police reported that the individual was driving a small, dark-colored SUV at the time. The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
“To maintain the integrity of the ongoing investigation, limited details will be released at this time,” the department said.
The victim’s brother, Jacob Robinson, told WTMJ-TV 4 that Giovanni was walking back to his hotel after celebrating his first hole-in-one at Whistling Straits Golf Course with dinner and drinks when he was fatally shot.
Just a month earlier, Giovanni welcomed his first child, a daughter named Farrah Margaret Robinson, with his wife, Rachel.

“He was a very good man, and he was an awesome brother. He was an even better husband,” Jacob said. “And he was going to be an amazing dad. He was excited to be a father.”
“Just this senseless act has taken away so many aspects. Not only a brother, but a son and a husband, and now my little niece — she’s only 5 weeks old — and she’s never really going to ever know her true father,” Jacob added.
Jacob said he wants his brother’s name to be remembered and seeks justice for his death.
A GoFundMe fundraiser organized by Amanda and Daniella Apostolakos states, “Authorities are doing their best to catch the monster that took his life.”
Giovanni’s cousins remembered him as someone who loved hockey. He played in the Ontario Hockey League and spent time in Germany with the Hannover Scorpions.
“He was a true family man, always making sure to spend every spare second with his loved ones. Even when he couldn’t be there physically, he would connect through FaceTime to be part of every event and gathering. Nothing filled a room like his smile and quick wit,” his cousins wrote.
They also highlighted his love story with Rachel, whom he met in 2017 and married in 2022. Friends and family said Giovanni was eagerly anticipating fatherhood.
“Mike was so excited to become a Father, constantly asking family and friends questions and seeking advice to prepare. He was the proudest when Farrah arrived, showing her off with the biggest smile you could imagine,” his family said.
“He dove right into his new role as ‘Dad’ and was a natural, just like we all knew he would be. It is heartbreaking to know he will never be able to hold his baby girl again.”
