Conservative commentator Candace Owens took aim at former President Donald Trump during a candid interview with Piers Morgan, sharply criticizing his decision to launch airstrikes on Iran and his overall foreign policy shift.

Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored Tuesday, Owens expressed disappointment in Trump’s recent actions, particularly his response to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.

“This is not the candidate that I voted for,” Owens told Morgan, distancing herself from Trump’s recent military decisions.
“I feel embarrassed that I told people to go vote for him because this wasn’t going to happen — and now it is.”

A longtime Trump supporter and influential voice within the MAGA movement, Owens joined a growing chorus of conservative figures urging Trump to avoid foreign entanglements. Critics within the movement argue that Trump campaigned on a promise to withdraw the U.S. from endless wars, making his decision to bomb Iranian nuclear sites a major reversal.

Owens went further, accusing Trump of being influenced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“There was no imminent threat to the United States when Trump made this decision to do what Bibi wanted,” she said.
“This was not Trump’s decision — it was Bibi Netanyahu’s decision. And that is the reason that he did it.”

She also pushed back on the online attacks she’s received from pro-war Trump supporters, including activist Laura Loomer, who recently called her “Tehran Candy” for criticizing U.S. involvement.

“It’s the same rhetoric we heard after 9/11 — labeling anyone against war as a terrorist sympathizer,” Owens said.
“This conflict is not our business.”

Owens first voiced her opposition to possible U.S. strikes last week, but her comments on Morgan’s show marked a turning point in her public stance, calling Trump a “chronic disappointment.”
