The family of YouTuber Adam the Woo has shared details about his sudden death.
Adam the Woo — born David Adam Williams — died at his home in Celebration, Florida, on Dec. 22. He was 51.
In a Facebook post shared Monday, Jan. 26, Adam’s father, Jim, said an autopsy determined the cause of death was atherosclerotic and hypertensive cardiovascular disease, which he said resulted in a “heart attack in his sleep.”
“The short answer is…natural causes,” Jim wrote. “… Our beloved son…your beloved friend…died, in essence, of a heart attack in his sleep from health issues he probably never knew he had.”
Jim also thanked fans for their support and said he felt grateful his son was able to pass away at home.
“Now, we can all stop guessing. Be grateful the Lord allowed him to die at home and not in a foreign country. Be grateful he was found by friends (as hard as that was) and not some nameless stranger,” he wrote, adding, “Thank you for loving Adam.”

Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and hypertensive heart disease are often linked, with plaque buildup narrowing arteries and contributing to high blood pressure. The conditions can occur together and raise the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other complications, according to Mayo Clinic.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office previously confirmed Adam was found dead inside his home. An OCSO spokesperson said deputies initially secured the residence after receiving no response, then returned later for an unattended death call.
“The residence was secured, and no contact was made with the adult male residing there,” the spokesperson said. “Deputies then responded back to the location for an unattended death at 2:53 p.m. A friend had borrowed a ladder and looked in the 3rd story window to see a male on a bed that was not moving. Upon entering the residence with Fire Rescue, the male was reported deceased.”
