A California man with a long criminal record is now facing a murder charge.
Glen Stevenson, 63, is accused of killing 46-year-old Salvador Rabago during a confrontation between the two men.
Police with the Redding Police Department arrived at the scene shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 1 after receiving several reports of a shooting from witnesses, according to a news release.
Stevenson, who was on probation and is not legally allowed to own a gun, allegedly killed Rabago by impaling him with an arrow, the RPD said.
Officers reported that Rabago had “a significant injury to his chest area” when they arrived and was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital.
Stevenson was taken to the precinct for questioning and was later booked into Shasta County Jail on a murder charge. He is being held without bail.
Court records show that most of Stevenson’s previous arrests involved illegal possession of firearms or drugs.
His criminal record in the county goes back nearly 40 years, beginning with a burglary in 1986.
