Cracker Barrel is stepping back to tradition.

After facing months of criticism over its recent rebranding — criticism that intensified when a new logo was revealed and even drew comments from President Donald Trump — the company has restored its original logo.

Last week, the Southern-inspired restaurant and retail chain introduced updates to its branding and menu as part of its “All the More” campaign. The new design removed the barrel, the image of the old man, and the “Old Country Store” tagline, replacing them with a simpler yellow hexagonal logo featuring only the company’s name.

But after strong backlash and a sharp dip in the company’s stock, Trump urged Cracker Barrel to return to its original look. He wrote on Truth Social, “Go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before. They got a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right.”

He added, “Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity. Have a major News Conference today. Make Cracker Barrel a WINNER again. Remember, in just a short period of time I made the United States of America the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World. One year ago, it was ‘DEAD.’ Good luck.”

Deputy White House Chief of Staff and Cabinet Secretary Taylor Budowich also weighed in on X, claiming he spoke with Cracker Barrel officials. “They wanted the President to know that they heard him, along with customer response (the ultimate poll), and would be restoring the Old Timer,” Budowich said. PEOPLE has reached out to Cracker Barrel for comment.

On Thursday, Cracker Barrel confirmed on Facebook that it would bring back its classic logo after listening to its customers.

“We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain,” the statement read.

The company added: “At Cracker Barrel, it’s always been – and always will be – about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family. As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon.”

Trump later congratulated Cracker Barrel in another Truth Social post, writing: “All of your fans very much appreciate it. Good luck into the future. Make lots of money and, most importantly, make your customers happy again.”
