A California father is calling his young son and daughter heroes after they helped save his life during a violent road-rage encounter earlier this month.
Chris Davison, 38, is recovering from multiple stab wounds sustained on Oct. 17, according to a family GoFundMe. He was driving to a Halloween festival in Ramona, California, with his 6-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son when the attack occurred.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed that Noah Kane has been arrested in connection with the incident. Davison was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
According to local outlet 10 News, Davison said a black pickup truck began tailgating him on a San Diego County interstate, revving its engine and forcing him off the road twice. When Davison stopped to see what was happening, the other driver—identified as Kane—allegedly got out and attacked him with a knife.
“Not one word, just a demonic stare in this man’s eyes,” Davison recalled to 10 News.

While trying to shield himself, Davison was stabbed several times on his side before the assailant fled. His terrified children immediately leapt into action. His son used a dinosaur sticker and a phone-charger cord to slow the bleeding, while his daughter screamed for help from the car window, still dressed in her princess costume.
Davison said he told his son to find anything that could be used as tape. When the sticker wasn’t enough, the boy searched through the vehicle and grabbed the charger cord to tie around the wound. Both children also removed their sweaters to apply pressure.
“My son screaming, ‘Stay awake, Dad. Stay awake,’” Davison recalled.
A close family friend, who happened to be nearby on a motorcycle, rushed to assist. He cleaned the blood off Davison’s phone and called 911.
Kane has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including attempted murder, 10 News reported. His attorney information was not immediately available in online court records.
