President Donald Trump accidentally revealed that Laura Loomer is engaged while speaking at the White House Christmas party on Dec. 15.
As he introduced Loomer, 32 — a MAGA activist who describes herself as an investigative journalist — Trump, 79, pointed her out from the podium and asked, “Where’s your boyfriend?”
A moment later, he appeared to confirm the relationship had taken a new step. “There’s another couple getting married,” he said, referencing Loomer and her fiancé after he had announced Donald Trump Jr.’s engagement just moments earlier. “When are you getting married?”
From the audience, Loomer responded that the news wasn’t supposed to be public yet. “We don’t know yet, we haven’t announced it! You’re the first person to announce it,” she shouted.
Trump laughed and then addressed Loomer’s fiancé, telling him he’d found a “great woman” and that the two of them looked good together.
“People think she’s on the tough side. She’s not,” Trump added. “She’s got a big heart, she just cares a lot about the country.”
Loomer Confirms the News on Social Media
On Dec. 16, Loomer confirmed the engagement on her social media, writing that it was an “honor” to be acknowledged by Trump.
“It is an even bigger honor that the President of the United States @POTUS just scooped me on publicly announcing my own engagement to the world from the White House,” she wrote on X alongside a video of the moment. “I’m very excited to be getting married, and I am thrilled that the greatest President ever approves of the greatest man in my life.”
She Previously Mentioned a Serious Relationship
During an appearance on the PBD Podcast in July, Loomer was asked by host Patrick Bet-David whether she could ever put a man ahead of Trump in her life.
“Yeah, look, I mean I don’t talk about my personal life that much, but I am currently — I guess this is the first time I’m really announcing this publicly — I am in a serious relationship,” she replied.
She also explained why she’d largely kept her partner out of the spotlight.
“I don’t talk about it a lot, but I met a really great guy and I keep him away from the media because I don’t want him to be targeted,” she said at the time. “He’s not political. We met on an airplane and we’ve been together for a while now.”
Loomer Also Shared Video of Trump Jr.’s Engagement Moment
Along with confirming her own engagement, Loomer posted a video from Dec. 15 showing Trump announcing that his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., had become engaged to Florida socialite Bettina Anderson.
“I’m not usually at a loss for words, because I’m usually doing the ranting and raving really well,” Don Jr., 47, said during the announcement. “I want to thank Bettina for that one word: ‘Yes.’ “
Anderson also spoke briefly, adding, “This has been the most unforgettable weekend. I get to marry the love of my life, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Thank you.”
