President Donald Trump isn’t shutting the door on the possibility of any of his five children pursuing the presidency — though he doesn’t seem focused on choosing a successor just yet.

During a recent White House tour with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Trump, 79, was asked whether his youngest son, Barron Trump, could one day serve as president.

The question came up while the pair discussed Trump’s ongoing renovations to the White House, including plans for a multi-million-dollar ballroom. Admiring improvements in the Palm Room — such as upgraded chandeliers and marble flooring — Ingraham asked whether any of his children share his attention to detail.

The former president has three children with his late ex-wife Ivana Trump: Donald Trump Jr., 47; Ivanka Trump, 44; and Eric Trump, 41. He shares daughter Tiffany Trump, 32, with his ex-wife Marla Maples, and his youngest, Barron, with first lady Melania Trump.

Trump responded, “I think they do. I think Eric is very good, and Don in a very different way is good, Ivanka is, you know.” He continued, “Tiffany is very smart. She was a great student. They’re all great students… And I think Barron’s gonna be tremendous at that. He’s very meticulous.”

When Ingraham asked whether Barron was inside the White House at that moment, Trump confirmed he was: “He is, he’s here. He’s right upstairs… Wanna see him?” he joked, adding that Barron is “tall” and “doing a good job.”

Ingraham remarked that some believe Barron could be the next member of the family to run for president. Trump replied, “In a certain way, they all could,” before shifting the conversation to show her his “Presidential Walk of Fame” in the West Colonnade.

Trump’s comments also indicated that Barron has moved back to Washington, D.C., after spending his first year of college at New York University’s Manhattan campus. While studying in Greenwich Village, he commuted from Trump Tower — a well-known family property.

Although Barron has not publicly expressed interest in a political future, Melania Trump has previously said he was actively engaged in his father’s successful second presidential campaign. She told Fox News that her son “was very vocal” with strategic advice, adding that he helped energize young voters: “He knows his generation.”
