Mere days after reports surfaced that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are allegedly thinking about moving back to the United States, it seems their plans may have run into a serious complication.

When the couple first relocated to the U.K., they bought a lavish farmhouse. Not long after, they listed that property and sought out another farmhouse that would better suit the needs of their pets. The original home went back on the market for around $30 million, after they’d purchased it just over a year earlier for $20 million. Now, there’s a new problem.

The multi-million dollar property has reportedly been flooded. Although earlier rumors of flooding were denied by DeGeneres, ongoing heavy rain has now actually caused water damage, according to Realtor.

For a bit of background, DeGeneres and de Rossi first met in 2001 at a Rock the Vote concert. They didn’t become a couple until 2004, when they reconnected, ended their respective relationships, and began dating. They later got engaged and married in August 2008.

Following Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, the pair decided to leave all of their California properties behind and move to the U.K., later confirming that the election outcome was the driving factor behind their decision.
