A single-vehicle rollover crash in Kansas earlier this week killed a young mother and left her two sons seriously injured, officials said.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a 911 call about the crash near the intersection of NW 30th and NW Tawakoni Road in Benton shortly after 1 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 17. Authorities said all occupants of a Chevrolet Impala were ejected from the car, which appeared to have rolled multiple times.

Harley R. Wright, 27, of Wichita, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her two children, ages 5 and 6, were found outside the vehicle as well and were transported to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators said Wright had left a family gathering around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, intending to take her children to El Dorado. When they didn’t arrive, relatives contacted the El Dorado Police Department to request a welfare check. Family members later located the crash site themselves.

“Harley was laying right here close to the car,” Wright’s sister, Hayley, told NBC affiliate KWCH. “We think she got up and was trying to find her kids and you know, talk to them. It was a lot to see.”

A GoFundMe has been created to help cover memorial expenses and support Wright’s two sons as they recover. The organizer wrote that while loved ones are grieving her death, they are grateful the boys are stable and improving, and will need significant care and support in the months ahead.

The crash remains under investigation, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
