Far-left podcast host Jennifer Welch has quickly risen as a prominent voice in liberal media, though her recent remarks have sparked significant outrage from conservatives.

Welch, co-host of the “I’ve Had It” podcast, went viral this week for comments made on her politically charged spinoff, “IHIP News.” In the episode, she laughed while reacting to a video of a No Kings protester who said she was “glad” conservative activist Charlie Kirk had been assassinated.

“So listen up, Democratic establishment,” Welch said. “You can either jump on board with this s—, or we’re coming after you in the same way that we come after MAGA. Period.”

Just days earlier, Welch made another inflammatory statement, calling White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller a “Nazi Jew.”

“Stephen Miller is a White supremacist. I mean, he is. And he’s basically running the White House,” Welch claimed. “They keep Trump busy with his decorating projects… And then you have these real sociopaths that are real antisemites, true White supremacists like Stephen Miller. And even though he’s Jewish, he’s like a Nazi Jew.”

From Interior Design to Political Podcasting

An Oklahoma City-based interior designer, Welch’s career trajectory has shifted dramatically. After starring in Bravo’s short-lived reality show “Sweet Home Oklahoma” from 2017 to 2018, she launched “I’ve Had It” with co-host Angie Sullivan in 2022. Initially positioned as an apolitical outlet to vent “petty grievances” and push back against “toxic positivity,” the podcast took a sharp political turn in 2024.

That pivot led to high-profile interviews with figures such as former President Barack Obama, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and then–Vice President Kamala Harris.

Mainstream Media Spotlight

Welch and Sullivan have since become regulars in mainstream media circles, appearing twice on NBC’s “Today” fourth-hour program, as well as on “CBS Mornings” and ABC’s “The View.” They’ve also been profiled by Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and New York Magazine’s The Cut, and even attended a live event hosted by MSNBC in New York City.

“Is the Future of Viral Left Podcasting These Two Hilarious Red State Moms?” asked Rolling Stone, while The Guardian described them as “two blond suburban moms [who] gave Democrats an answer to the right-wing media ecosystem.”

Welch has recently increased her solo appearances on cable news, debuting on CNN in September 2024 and returning multiple times since, including at least four appearances on “CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip.” She’s also appeared on MSNBC three times in recent months.

Growing Influence and Political Commentary

“I’ve Had It” now ranks among Apple’s top 100 podcasts and boasts over 1.36 million YouTube subscribers. Welch’s guest list has included House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y.; New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani; MSNBC’s Jen Psaki; and CNN’s Abby Phillip.

Welch has praised Mamdani as a model for Democratic success and sharply criticized party leaders for not supporting him.

“Zohran Mamdani is putting on a masterclass on how the Democrats win,” she said. “This guy is the future of the Democratic Party, and the fact there is leadership that hasn’t endorsed him is why we lose.”

Unfiltered and Controversial Takes

Known for her blunt language, Welch often directs her ire not only at conservatives but also at Democrats she considers too centrist. She blasted former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel for downplaying transgender rights, calling his remarks “total bulls—” and accusing him of parroting right-wing narratives.

In another interview, she criticized Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., accusing him of “capitulation” to what she calls the “fascist” Trump administration, comparing Democratic leadership to “Neville Chamberlain” and condemning his ties to AIPAC.

In August, Welch drew fresh outrage when she said White Trump voters should be barred from dining at ethnic restaurants or visiting gay-owned businesses.

“I don’t think you should be able to enjoy anything but Cracker Barrel,” she said. “Get your fat a—es over to Cracker Barrel.”

Following conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination, Welch called him a “hate-monger.”

“I oppose gun violence … but Charlie Kirk was a hate-monger, a racist, a misogynist, and a homophobe who trafficked in cruelty and in culture wars that marginalized people,” Welch told The Cut. “I opposed his opinions when he was alive, and I oppose his opinions now that he’s dead. The violent nature of his death doesn’t change that.”
