Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna says she once witnessed an unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP) while serving in the military.

The 36-year-old Republican shared the story on a recent episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast. She recalled what she described as a strange “airspace incursion” during her time in the Oregon Air National Guard.

Luna worked as an airfield manager at the Portland Air National Guard Base when an unidentified object entered the restricted airspace. She asked the pilots what they had seen, but they refused to explain.

“They’re like, ‘Eh, we can’t really talk about it.’ And no one really wanted to address it,” Luna said, adding that one pilot admitted they couldn’t “really identify” the object in the sky.

Podcast host Rogan suggested the incident could have involved a foreign military aircraft or even something classified. But Luna recalled that one pilot seemed very shaken, which led her to believe the incident involved a UAP — a term now used instead of UFO.

“No one really wanted to address it, and so from what I gathered, that had likely been a UAP,” she explained. “So that kind of was my perspective.”

Now a member of Congress, Luna chairs the Declassification of Federal Secrets Task Force. Since taking office in 2023, she has pushed for more transparency on UAPs.

She also said that people who report such sightings often face stigma — especially military personnel, since a UAP report could put their security clearance and reputation at risk.

Luna further claimed that lawmakers have been shown evidence of “interdimensional beings.”

“Without getting into classified conversations, there have been incidences where I believe very credible people have reported that there have been movements outside of time and space,” Luna said. “Based on the photos that I’ve seen, I’m very confident there are things out there that have not been created by mankind.”

Luna has also drawn attention for promoting conspiracy theories during her political rise. She has questioned the deaths of President John F. Kennedy and Jeffrey Epstein, and she supports Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s controversial “Make America Healthy Again” plan, as well as President Trump’s mass deportation and detention program.

Just days after Trump’s 2025 inauguration, Luna introduced a bill proposing that Trump’s face be added to Mount Rushmore so he could “be forever remembered among the great like Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt.”
