Former child actor Matt Prokop has been arrested in Victoria County, Texas, facing several charges — including a felony count of possession of child pornography.
Prokop, 35, was taken into custody on Dec. 24 and booked into the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office Jail, according to a jail employee. TMZ first reported the arrest.
Court records list multiple alleged offenses. Prokop is facing four misdemeanor charges: one count related to violating a bond or protective order, one count of evading arrest or detention, and two counts of resisting arrest, search, or transportation. He is also charged with second-degree felony possession of child pornography.

It’s not yet clear when Prokop is expected to appear in court.
Prokop has previously been accused of abuse by his ex-girlfriend, Sarah Hyland, who alleged verbal and physical abuse during their five-year relationship. In court filings, she claimed that in May 2014 he allegedly slammed her into a vehicle and choked her during an argument.
Hyland later sought a restraining order in 2014. In her filing, she alleged that after intervention from her Modern Family costar Julie Bowen, Prokop threatened to kill her dog and burn down her house. The restraining order was granted the following month.
In the years since, Hyland has rarely spoken publicly about the relationship. “I don’t know if that part [of] any woman will ever be fully healed from that. It’s something that kind of scars her soul a little bit. It’s more so putting love towards that scar instead of hating it and ignoring it,” she told Variety in October 2024.
