Bryan Braman, a former NFL linebacker and Super Bowl champion, has passed away at the age of 38 following a battle with cancer.

Braman began his professional football journey in 2011 as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M, signing with the Houston Texans. He made his mark on special teams and contributed as a rotational defender during his three seasons with the team.

In 2014, he joined the Philadelphia Eagles, where he continued to shine in special teams roles. Braman was a member of the Eagles’ 2017 Super Bowl-winning squad, with a key moment coming in the playoffs when he blocked a punt during the team’s divisional round victory over the Atlanta Falcons. That Super Bowl was the final game of his NFL career.

News of his passing prompted tributes from former teammates, including NFL star J.J. Watt, who wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Rest in peace brother. Gone far too soon.” Watt also contributed $10,000 to a fundraiser in Braman’s memory.

Braman is survived by his two daughters, ages 11 and 8, according to his former agent, Sean Stellato.
