Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted for her role in Jeffrey Epstein’s s** trafficking network, is reportedly receiving special privileges behind bars, according to Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee.
Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence after her 2021 conviction and is currently held at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas.
A recent committee press release alleges a whistleblower has reported that prison staff are catering to Maxwell’s personal comforts — describing her as being waited on “hand and foot.”
One alleged benefit includes custom-prepared meals, which are cooked by prison staff and personally delivered to her cell by long-serving federal employees, the whistleblower claims.
Additional accusations include Maxwell being permitted access to recreational areas after hours, and her visitors being provided a special private section along with snacks and refreshments not made available to others.
The whistleblower also claims an inmate involved in a puppy-training program was specifically instructed to provide Maxwell with a puppy to play with, even though contact with service dogs in training is normally prohibited for both inmates and staff.
Previous reporting from NBC and CBS noted that Maxwell has sought a presidential commutation from Donald Trump.
The broader Epstein scandal continues to fuel political tension in Washington, especially surrounding demands to release Justice Department records related to the case.
Epstein — who was connected to Trump and other high-profile figures — died in a New York City jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal s** trafficking charges.
Emails released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee included one message in which Epstein wrote that Trump “knew about the girls.” In another email reviewed by CNN, Epstein described Trump as “borderline insane” and questioned his cognitive function.
