The U.S. Justice Department has released interview transcripts between Ghislaine Maxwell and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche regarding Jeffrey Epstein.
Maxwell, who was convicted of helping Epstein recruit, groom, and abuse underage girls, is serving a 20-year prison sentence. She recently sat down with Blanche for a two-day interview in Tallahassee, Florida.
During the exchange, Maxwell insisted that she never witnessed President Trump engaged in any inappropriate behavior with Epstein.
Maxwell Defends Trump
“I actually never saw the President in any type of massage setting,” Maxwell said. “I never witnessed the President in any inappropriate setting in any way. The President was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects.”
Blanche followed up: “Did you ever hear Mr. Epstein or anybody say that President Trump had done anything inappropriate with masseuses or with anybody in your world?”
“Absolutely never, in any context,” Maxwell responded.
According to Maxwell, she first met Trump in the 1990s through her father. She described him as “always very cordial and very kind to me,” adding praise for his “extraordinary achievement in becoming the President now.”
“And I like him, and I’ve always liked him,” she said. “So that is the sum and substance of my entire relationship with him.”
Epstein Investigation Criticism
The interview came at a time when the Trump administration faced scrutiny over its handling of the Epstein probe. On July 7, an FBI and Justice Department document confirmed that no further details about the Epstein *** trafficking investigation would be released. Lawmakers from both parties condemned the decision and called for greater transparency.
Maxwell Denies $30 Million Payout
On the second day of questioning, Blanche pressed Maxwell on claims that Epstein gave her $30 million for recruiting young women.
Maxwell disputed the allegation, saying the funds were tied to business investments financed by Epstein.
Blanche asked if she received “$30 million between ’99 and 2007” specifically as payment for bringing in young women.
“That is categorically false, correct,” Maxwell said.
She explained that Epstein had “loaned me all the money to enable me to do this and then I reaped the profits, which I don’t remember now, because we varied over the deals that we did, that I would give him 50 percent or 25.”
Maxwell also denied ever using Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate to recruit women.
