A Maryland mother whose two young children vanished more than a decade ago has once again been indicted on murder charges.
Catherine Hoggle, 38, of Clarksburg, was indicted by a grand jury on Thursday, July 31, on two counts of first-degree murder related to the presumed deaths of her children, Sarah and Jacob Hoggle, according to a press release from the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office issued Monday, August 4.
PEOPLE reached out to Hoggle’s attorney for comment but did not receive a response before publication.
Authorities previously said Hoggle was the last known person to see 3-year-old Sarah and 2-year-old Jacob in September 2014 before they disappeared. The children have never been located.
At the time, Hoggle told her boyfriend, Troy Turner — the children’s father — that she had placed them in a new child care facility. However, when Turner attempted to pick them up, Hoggle refused to reveal their location, he told PEOPLE in 2017.
Since their disappearance, Turner has led numerous search efforts and created a Facebook page, FindSarahFindJacob, to help raise awareness.
“My job is to find my kids,” Turner previously said, “and bring them home.”
Hoggle, who has a history of mental illness, was initially charged with murder, but those charges were dropped after she was deemed not competent to stand trial, PEOPLE previously reported.
She spent the last several years in a psychiatric facility and was released last month, according to the Associated Press.
The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office said she was taken into custody again on Friday, August 1, after authorities learned of her discharge. Hoggle is expected to appear for a bond review hearing on Monday.
