WASHINGTON — As the battle heats up over the sweeping Republican domestic agenda ahead of the 2026 midterms, House Republicans are rolling out their first campaign ads promoting President Donald Trump’s newly signed legislative package — the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) launched a series of digital ads nationwide Tuesday, highlighting key features of the $3.4 trillion package — including tax relief and support for working families — in a push to define the narrative before Democrats do.

“Republicans took action with President Trump to make America more affordable again,” the ad declares, emphasizing a “Working Families Tax Cut,” the elimination of taxes on tips, and lower taxes on Social Security. “Thousands in savings for workers and seniors.”

The ad blitz follows Trump’s July 4 signing of the massive bill at a White House ceremony — a moment Republicans are seizing as a campaign centerpiece.

What’s in the Bill?

Dubbed the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” the legislation delivers on many of Trump’s 2024 campaign promises. Passed on near-party lines in both chambers, it includes:

  • Extension of 2017 tax cuts, which were set to expire this year
  • New tax exemptions for tips and overtime pay
  • A restructuring of Medicaid, adding work requirements
  • Billions in border security funding
  • Food stamp reforms aimed at reducing federal spending
  • Codification of immigration enforcement policies

According to the Congressional Budget Office, making the 2017 tax cuts permanent could cost $4.4 trillion over the next decade — a figure that, along with new spending, could push the national debt up by $4 trillion.

Democrats Slam GOP for Cuts to Safety Net

Democrats wasted no time attacking the law, focusing on its impact on low-income Americans.

“House Republicans just approved the largest cut to Medicaid and food assistance in American history to fund tax breaks for their billionaire donors,” said House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Rep. Suzan DelBene, chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), warned that the bill would be a major liability for vulnerable Republicans in 2026.

“We will make sure every battleground voter knows how vulnerable House Republicans abandoned them by passing the most unpopular piece of legislation in modern American history,” she said.

National polls conducted ahead of the bill’s passage suggested lukewarm or negative public sentiment — especially toward the safety net changes.

GOP Counters With Tax Cut Messaging

Republicans are betting voters will respond more favorably to tax relief and cost-of-living measures than to Democratic warnings.

“Republicans are delivering real relief while Democrats deliver excuses,” NRCC spokesman Mike Marinella told Fox News. “President Trump and House Republicans are cutting taxes, lowering costs, and putting working families first.”

NRCC Chair Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) doubled down in a recent op-ed, saying House Democrats “rejected common sense” by voting against the bill and vowing to make them answer for it next November.

With the midterm campaign cycle now fully underway, both parties are gearing up for a messaging war over Trump’s landmark domestic policy win — one that could decide control of Congress in 2026.
