Sky Daily, the wife of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, has shared a deeply emotional tribute following his unexpected death at age 71 on Thursday, July 24. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she revealed that Hogan had been battling health issues in recent months, though she remained hopeful he would recover.
“I wasn’t ready for this… and my heart is in pieces,” wrote Daily, who married Hogan in 2023. “He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them. I thought we still had more time.”
Hogan — born Terry Bollea — died after suffering cardiac arrest at his Clearwater, Florida, home. First responders arrived after a 911 call was placed Thursday morning, and he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The news came as a shock to many, especially after friends and representatives had publicly dismissed concerns about his health. Just days before his passing, longtime friend and wrestling manager Jimmy Hart described Hogan’s health as “phenomenal.”
In her tribute, Daily, 46, shared how deeply personal the loss feels. “To the world, he was a legend… but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart,” she wrote.
She also spoke about Hogan’s unwavering dedication to his fans. “Despite his growing physical discomfort, he still showed up—signing autographs, taking pictures, connecting with people. You meant everything to him,” she told his supporters.
Daily added that Hogan was a man of faith. “He was a believer in Christ, and I take comfort knowing his soul is at peace and he’s been welcomed home. Please keep his family and all of us who loved him in your prayers as we try to navigate this new reality.”

Daily and Hogan first sparked romance rumors in early 2022 when they were seen together at a Bret Michaels concert. The couple confirmed their relationship soon after, got engaged in July 2023, and wed two months later in an intimate ceremony in Florida.
“My new life starts now!” Hogan had written on Instagram at the time, alongside footage from the wedding.
Tributes from across the entertainment world have poured in for Hogan, a 12-time world wrestling champion widely credited with helping WWE become a global brand during its 1980s boom. The company praised him as a foundational figure in its history.
While Hogan’s wrestling legacy is legendary, his personal life had its share of controversy. He was removed from the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015 following the leak of a racist rant, which he later apologized for, calling his comments “unacceptable.” In 2024, he stirred further controversy with a public speech supporting Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention.
Hogan was also at the center of a high-profile legal battle with Gawker, which he sued for $100 million over the release of a sex tape. Backed by billionaire Peter Thiel, Hogan eventually settled the case for $31 million in 2016.
Before marrying Sky Daily, Hogan was previously married to Linda Hogan from 1983 to 2009, and later to Jennifer McDaniel from 2010 until their 2021 divorce. He shared two children with Linda: Brooke, born in 1988, and Nick, born in 1990.
