Hunter Biden, in another interview filled with profanity, dismissed first lady Melania Trump’s recent $1 billion legal notice. She claims he made “false, defamatory, disparaging and inflammatory statements” about her.
“F— that. That’s not gonna happen,” Biden said during an interview with “Channel 5” podcaster Andrew Callaghan, which was posted on YouTube Thursday.
Callaghan reminded Biden that Mrs. Trump is demanding $1 billion in damages and a public apology. This stems from an earlier interview called “Hunter Biden Returns”, in which Biden claimed, “Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. The connections are, like, so wide and deep.”
“So now we’re here maybe to give you the platform to apologize to the first lady,” Callaghan told him. But Biden refused.
Instead of backing down, Biden doubled down, saying he was even willing to face a deposition over the matter.
“I also think they’re bullies, and they think that a billion dollars is going to scare me,” he said. “If they want to sit down for a deposition and clarify the nature of the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein – if the president, the first lady, and their associates want to do that – I’m more than happy to provide the platform.”
Fox News Digital obtained a letter from attorney Alejandro Brito, who represents Mrs. Trump. The letter, sent Aug. 6 to Biden and his lawyer Abbe Lowell, demanded that Biden retract his statements.
Brito wrote that Biden must “immediately retract the false, defamatory, disparaging and inflammatory statements” from the YouTube video published in early August. If not, Mrs. Trump would pursue “all legal rights and remedies” to recover damages for what she says is serious harm to her reputation.
In his earlier video, Biden had also claimed, “Jeffrey Epstein introduced Melania, and that’s how Melania and the President met.”
Brito argued these statements were “extremely salacious” and spread widely online. He said the video had been republished by media outlets and social media personalities, reaching tens of millions of people worldwide and causing Mrs. Trump “overwhelming financial and reputational harm.”
On behalf of the first lady, Brito demanded that Biden issue both a full retraction and a public apology in the same way the original statements were made.
