In a post on Truth Social, US President Donald Trump called for CNN’s Natasha Bertrand’s firing, adding she should be “thrown like a dog”.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump recently took to Truth Social to criticize CNN correspondent Natasha Bertrand, accusing her of spreading false information about U.S. military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Trump called for Bertrand to be fired and said she should be “thrown like a dog” from the network.
In response, Bertrand took to Instagram and shared a series of lighthearted stories, including a meme of her dog, Wallace Cornelius III. One post featured a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social statement, with the phrase “thrown like a dog” highlighted in red. In the next story, she posted a humorous meme of Wallace with the caption, “… and I took that personally.” She followed it up with a photo of another pet and the text, “She did, too.”
CNN Backs Its Reporter
CNN publicly defended Bertrand and her reporting. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the network stated:
“We stand 100% behind Natasha Bertrand’s journalism and specifically her and her colleagues’ reporting of the early intelligence assessment of the U.S. attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. CNN’s reporting made clear this was a preliminary analysis subject to change as more intelligence becomes available. We have also thoroughly covered President Trump’s skepticism toward this assessment. It is not reasonable to criticize CNN reporters for accurately reporting an existing intelligence evaluation that serves the public interest.”
Trump Keeps Up Criticism
In a previous post, Trump wrote:
“Natasha Bertrand should be FIRED from CNN! I watched her for three days doing Fake News. She should be IMMEDIATELY reprimanded, and then thrown out ‘like a dog’.”
In another recent post, he escalated his criticism of the network, calling it “FAKE NEWS CNN” and accusing it of being “DISGUSTING AND INCOMPETENT,” while also claiming it has “some of the dumbest anchors in the business.”
