U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Denver have arrested a South African national, Simon Gous, 37, on multiple charges, including making alleged terroristic threats. He is currently being held in ICE custody and faces deportation proceedings.
According to ICE, Gous has a criminal record that includes driving under the influence (DUI), use of a weapon to commit a felony, and terroristic threats. He will remain in custody while immigration officials initiate removal proceedings.
Gous is one of three South African men recently apprehended in the U.S. for violent offenses. ICE reports that one of the three has already been deported, while the others remain under investigation.
Authorities say Gous is likely to be deported to South Africa following legal proceedings.
