An Indiana woman is facing federal charges after allegedly posting violent threats against President Donald Trump on social media, including one message in which she said she wanted to disembowel him.

Nathalie Rose Jones, 50, of Lafayette, Indiana, has been charged with threatening to take the life of, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, as well as transmitting interstate communications containing threats, according to the Justice Department.

“Threatening the life of the President is one of the most serious crimes and one that will be met with swift and unwavering prosecution. Make no mistake—justice will be served,” said U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro. “We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated law enforcement partners, especially the Secret Service Special Agents from New York and Washington, D.C., for their tireless commitment to protecting our leaders and our nation.”

According to prosecutors, Jones came to the attention of federal authorities after Secret Service agents discovered that an Instagram account under the name “nath.jones” had posted threatening comments about Trump between Aug. 2–9.

The posts called Trump a terrorist, described his administration as a dictatorship, and blamed him for unnecessary loss of life during the coronavirus pandemic, while demanding his removal from office.

From Aug. 6–15, prosecutors say Jones continued making threats, this time on Facebook. In one Aug. 6 post directed at the FBI, she allegedly wrote: “I am willing to sacrificially kill this POTUS by disemboweling him and cutting out his trachea with Liz Cheney and all The Affirmation present.”

In another post on Aug. 14, directed at Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, she allegedly urged him to arrange “the arrest and removal ceremony of POTUS Trump as a terrorist on the American People” at the White House on Aug. 16.

When interviewed by the Secret Service, Jones allegedly referred to Trump as a “terrorist” and a “nazi.” She admitted that if given the chance, she would attempt to kill him, saying she had a “bladed object” she intended to use to “carry out her mission.” She also said her motive was to avenge lives lost during the COVID-19 pandemic, which she blamed on Trump’s vaccine policies.

On Aug. 16, Jones attended a protest in Washington, D.C., that circled the White House complex. Following the event, she was again interviewed by agents and admitted she had made the threats the previous day. Authorities say she later acknowledged being the owner of the “Nath Jones” Facebook account and confirmed posting the threatening remarks.

“Protecting the President of the United States is our highest priority, and every potential threat is addressed with the utmost seriousness,” said Matt McCool, Special Agent in Charge of the Secret Service’s Washington Field Office.
