An influencer and her teenage daughter were discovered dead in their apartment in Brazil after neighbors noticed a strange odor coming from the residence, according to local media reports.
On Friday, Oct. 10, authorities found the bodies of model Lidiane Aline Lorenço, 33 — who had more than 54,000 Instagram followers — and her 15-year-old daughter, Miana Sophya Santos, inside their home in Barra da Tijuca, a neighborhood in the southwest of Rio de Janeiro, outlets including R7, UOL Notícias, and G1 reported.
Police from the 16th DP (Barra da Tijuca), which is leading the investigation, told G1 there were no signs of violence on either body or within the apartment.
Firefighters were called to the scene after residents reported a suspicious smell coming from the property. The two were found in separate rooms — Miana in the living room and Lorenço in one of the bedrooms — according to R7 and UOL Notícias.

The Civil Police said in a statement that a forensic team examined the scene and found no evidence of physical assault. They added that autopsies have been completed, but the cause of death has not yet been determined. Further testing is underway.
Witnesses told reporters that the mother and daughter had not been seen for five days before their bodies were discovered.
Lorenço and Miana, who were originally from Santa Cecília in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, were buried on Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Santa Cecília Municipal Cemetery, per UOL Notícias.
In addition to her modeling and social media work, Lorenço was reportedly studying medicine at a private university in Rio, according to UOL Notícias and posts on her social media accounts.

She is believed to have moved to Rio more than five years ago, while her daughter had only recently joined her, UOL Notícias noted, citing family members’ social media posts.
The Civil Police confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.
