An Italian model has died after allegedly being stabbed 24 times by her former partner in Milan.
Authorities say that on the night of Tuesday, Oct. 14, around 10 p.m., Pamela Genini, 29, was attacked by her ex-boyfriend, Gianluca Soncin, 52, on the terrace of her apartment in Gorla, a district in Milan, according to Il Fatto Quotidiano.
Neighbors reportedly heard Genini’s screams for help and called the police, attempting to break down the door before officers arrived, the outlet reported.
After allegedly dragging Genini onto the terrace and stabbing her 24 times, Soncin reportedly turned the knife on himself, stabbing himself twice in the throat as police entered the home, according to Il Fatto Quotidiano, Il Giorno, and ANSA.

A former partner of Genini told investigators that her relationship with Soncin had recently become strained, Il Giorno and ANSA reported. ANSA added that while the pair were technically still together, Genini had been planning to end things.
Genini had been on the phone with another ex-partner when she discovered Soncin inside her apartment. That call prompted the man to alert authorities, Il Fatto Quotidiano reported.
When police first knocked on the door, Genini allegedly told Soncin that it was a food delivery. Moments later, officers forced entry and discovered the crime scene. Genini was found critically injured and later died from her wounds.
Soncin, now hospitalized at Milan’s Niguarda Hospital, is reportedly in stable condition. Authorities say he gained access to the apartment using a copied key made weeks earlier.

Prosecutors confirmed that Genini sustained “injuries to the neck, back, chest, upper limbs, and hands, with 24 stab wounds,” said Milan prosecutor Alessia Menegazzo, per Il Fatto Quotidiano.
Investigators believe the suspect had been stalking Genini. Several witnesses told authorities that she had suffered prior physical abuse and threats from Soncin, according to the outlet.
