The U.S. Secret Service said that shortly after midnight on Monday, Jan. 5, an adult male was physically detained by agents at the residence.
“An adult male was taken into custody by the Cincinnati Police Department after being detained by U.S. Secret Service personnel for causing property damage, including breaking windows on the exterior of a personal residence associated with the Vice President,” Assistant Special Agent in Charge Matthew Young said in a statement.

The Secret Service said Vance and his family were not in Ohio at the time of the incident.
The Cincinnati Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office are coordinating with the Secret Service as prosecutors review potential charges. The man’s name has not been released.
Local ABC affiliate WCPO reported from the scene and published photos showing officers examining what appeared to be a broken window on the property.
The incident comes days after the city previously announced that roads surrounding the vice president’s home would be closed from Dec. 29 through Jan. 4, with residents in the area required to pass through multiple security checkpoints to reach their homes.
Requests for comment were sent to the White House and the Cincinnati Police Department.
