Jelly Roll stepped out looking noticeably slimmer alongside wife Bunnie Xo at the Pre-Grammy Gala ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards.

On Saturday, Jan. 31, the 41-year-old country star — who has said he once weighed 550 lbs. — hit the red carpet arm-in-arm with the Dumb Blonde Podcast host. He wore an all-black textured suit, while Bunnie, 46, turned heads in a skintight metallic latex dress. The couple shared a few affectionate moments as photographers captured them together.

Behind the scenes, the singer — whose real name is Jason DeFord — said getting into the latex look took some extra effort. He explained that the outfit “involved lubrication,” and Bunnie added that she “had to literally use lube” to get into it.

Rather than treating it like a wardrobe headache, he appeared to find the moment amusing, joking that it was a “10 out of 10 experience,” and gesturing toward the dress as he teased that husbands should “get your wife one of these.” When Bunnie playfully accused him of having a “latex fetish,” he riffed that the material could be “shined up like an automobile,” continuing with a joke about polishing it. Laughing, Bunnie replied that he was going to “turn me into a slip and slide later.”

Beyond the playful banter, the artist has been open about focusing on his health since beginning his weight-loss journey in 2022. In an earlier interview, he said he’d been “fat my whole life,” sharing that his mother gave him the nickname Jelly Roll when he was a kid and that he spent years “trying to grow into the name.”

He has also said that while his success didn’t come because of his weight, his progress has reshaped his touring habits and daily routines. He explained that what used to be a tour culture centered on alcohol and drugs has shifted toward better eating, exercising, and emotional check-ins with his crew. He added that losing weight and addressing food addiction brought unexpected personal benefits, including feeling more energetic and revitalized.
