Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of John F. Kennedy, put on a blonde wig and spoke in a heavy Eastern European accent to mock First Lady Melania Trump on Instagram. In the video, the 32-year-old read Melania’s recent letter to Vladimir Putin, where she asked him to end the war in Ukraine so children could have back their “melodic laughter.”

During the clip, a picture of Melania and her letter appeared on screen. Schlossberg started by reading, “Dear President Putin,” just as Melania had written.

President Trump had given that letter to Putin on Friday during the Russian leader’s visit to Alaska, where he met with Trump and members of the administration. The note was later shared on social media Saturday. In it, Melania pleaded with Putin as a parent, asking him to think about the suffering war brings to children.

“Mr. Putin, you can singlehandedly restore their melodic laughter,” she wrote, saying that protecting children’s innocence would serve not only Russia, but “humanity itself.”

After finishing the letter in character, Schlossberg stopped and asked, “What am I saying? This makes no sense.”

He then took off the wig and said in his own voice that the first lady’s words were “confusing,” adding that the war in Ukraine was actually very simple—it started with Russia’s unprovoked attack.

This is not the first time Schlossberg has used Instagram to mock political spouses. He has also targeted Robert F. Kennedy Jr., his uncle and the current Health and Human Services Secretary, who is married to actor Cheryl Hines.

Hines told the Wall Street Journal last week that she doesn’t “understand what’s going on with” Schlossberg and didn’t want to give him extra attention by speculating.
