Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau have made their relationship Instagram official.
On Saturday, Dec. 6, the 41-year-old pop star shared a carousel on Instagram filled with cozy photos and videos from a recent trip to Japan — and the former Canadian prime minister, 53, was right by her side.
In one shot, the pair snuggled close for an outdoor selfie, cheek to cheek. A video showed them sharing a meal together and gazing into each other’s eyes, while another clip appeared to show them wandering through an immersive art experience.
“Tokyo times on tour and more ( ◠‿◠ ) 🎄🍣🐡🥞💐☃️♥️,” Perry wrote in the caption.
The Japan visit came during Perry’s Lifetimes Tour, and included a diplomatic-style stop. On Wednesday, Dec. 3, she joined Trudeau as he visited former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko. Kishida, 68, posted a photo of the group standing beside a Christmas tree on X, describing Perry as Trudeau’s “partner.”
“Former Canadian Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau visited Japan with his partner and joined my wife and me for lunch,” Kishida wrote in Japanese. “During his time as prime minister, we met multiple times as fellow leaders, and when I visited Canada, we worked together to strengthen bilateral relations, including formulating the ‘Japan-Canada Action Plan,’ sweating it out side by side. I am delighted that we continue to maintain this friendship in this way.”

Trudeau echoed the warm message when he reposted Kishida’s note.
“Great to see you @kishida230,” he wrote, adding, “Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko. Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to both the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone.”
Perry and Trudeau first fueled dating rumors over the summer, when they were spotted out together in Montreal, Canada. At that time, the “Bandaids” singer had recently ended her engagement to Orlando Bloom in June, while Trudeau had separated from his wife, Sophie Grégoire, in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.

A source previously shared that Trudeau had “been pursuing” the Grammy-nominated artist since their early dates in Montreal. “He even flew to California to see her during a tour break,” the insider said, noting that “they have an easy connection,” and that Perry is attracted to him and finds him “very respectful.”
Their first red-carpet-style appearance as a couple came on Oct. 25, when they stepped out together for a cabaret show at Crazy Horse Paris to celebrate Perry’s birthday, according to TMZ. Photos from the night showed the two leaving the venue hand-in-hand, smiling as they walked out together.
