Kellyanne Conway launched a sharp personal attack on comedian and LGBTQ+ activist Rosie O’Donnell during the December 30 episode of Fox News’ The Five, arguing that O’Donnell should find a husband.

The conservative political consultant, 58, mocked O’Donnell, 63, for not having a male partner, questioning her personal life rather than her political views. “Don’t you have anybody who loves you?” Conway asked on air. “You need a hug or a husband or a hobby or a dog.”

O’Donnell, an outspoken Democrat, has long been a target of conservative criticism, and Conway did not hold back during the broadcast. She accused the comedian of being consumed by what she described as “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” calling it “toxic and chaotic and sometimes frightening.”

The comments came after Conway criticized a recent TikTok video in which O’Donnell called for former President Donald Trump to be removed from office. In the clip, O’Donnell warned that Trump would “do anything he can to start a war and then declare no elections because of that war,” adding that he “needs to be stopped” and was “hardly even a human.”

O’Donnell publicly came out as a lesbian in 2002. She shares four children with her ex-wife Kelli Carpenter and one child with her late ex-wife Michelle Rounds.

Earlier this year, O’Donnell moved to Ireland, citing the emotional toll of the U.S. political climate following Trump’s inauguration. She said the decision was both political and personal, explaining that she and her son Clay felt the need to prioritize their well-being and “make some hard decisions.”

The tension between O’Donnell and Trump dates back nearly two decades. In 2006, she criticized him on The View, accusing him of hypocrisy and questioning his moral authority. Trump responded over the years with personal insults, labeling her “vicious” and a “slob.”

Most recently, Trump reignited the feud in September by threatening to revoke O’Donnell’s U.S. citizenship in a Truth Social post, claiming she was “not a Great American” and “incapable of being so.”
