Khloé Kardashian is embracing growth—and this season of her life seems to be all about facing things head-on, including her past relationship with editing apps and filters.

In a recent episode of her podcast Khloé in Wonder Land, the reality star addressed long-standing rumors and offered a candid look into how she once heavily relied on photo editing tools—something she now says she’s moved away from.

“There was definitely a time when I did [use Photoshop and filters],” Khloé admitted. “I was around people who made me feel like I needed to, and honestly, it was also just the culture. Everyone was Photoshopping everything—it was normal, expected even.”

While she doesn’t claim to be perfect today, she emphasized that her mindset has shifted. “There are still days where I feel like throwing a filter on a picture, especially if I’m not feeling great about myself. But I’ve realized I like myself better in video than in stills anyway,” she explained, noting that even now, insecurity can creep in.

Looking back, Khloé confessed how warped her self-image had become during those years. “I feel bad that I ever thought I had to look that way. I was surrounded by people who would edit my pictures before even showing them to me, so I started believing that’s what I really looked like. And when paparazzi photos would come out, I’d be confused—like, ‘Why don’t I look like that edited version?’ I had to retrain my brain to understand that those filtered versions weren’t real.”

Khloé’s struggle with photo editing hasn’t been without public scrutiny. Over the years, she’s faced backlash for heavily altered social media posts. One especially notable incident occurred when her grandmother, MJ, innocently shared an unedited bikini photo of Khloé. The image, starkly different from her curated feed, sparked a viral conversation about beauty standards, authenticity, and the ongoing dominance of filter culture.

Now, Khloé is advocating for more honesty—starting with herself. “I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I want people to know that it is possible to feel confident without hiding behind a filter. It’s okay to take your time getting there.”

So, how do you feel about using apps and filters to enhance your photos? Is it harmless fun—or is it time to take a step back and get real?
