Kim Kardashian Details ‘Toxic’ Marriage to Kanye West, Claims He’d Give Away Their Lamborghinis While Having an ‘Episode’

Kim Kardashian is opening up about her life and love since her split from Kanye West.

The SKIMS founder, 44, appeared on the Oct. 15 episode of Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, where she reflected on the “toxic” moments in her relationship with the rapper.

“I do have a problem of only remembering the good,” Kardashian said of her past relationships. “I’m a really forgiving person, but I really haven’t dated like that to, like, have those kinds of toxic relationships since I’ve been divorced.”

She added that with age comes clarity: “I think when you get older, you just don’t tolerate that s—. You don’t have time.”

Kardashian finalized her divorce from West in November 2022 after filing in early 2021. The pair married in May 2014 and share four children: North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6. Since the split, her only public relationship was with Pete Davidson from October 2021 to August 2022.

Later in the episode, Kardashian opened up about her marriage to West, 48, and how it unraveled.

“People can say that there were signs, and maybe I wasn’t paying attention to them,” she said. “When someone has their first mental break, you want to be super supportive and help figure that out. You want to be there for them.”

But she explained that West wasn’t “willing to make changes” she believed were necessary. “It makes it really hard to continue on in a relationship that can be toxic,” she said. “When you have kids, it’s definitely harder to leave than to stay. And it changes everyone’s life forever.”

Ultimately, Kardashian said she had to walk away to protect her mental health and set an example for her children. “Once my mental health starts to get affected and I can’t parent the way I need to, then there’s gotta be one of us that can,” she said. “I had to save myself to be a better mom for everyone. When everyone’s older, they’ll understand.”

She also revealed that her daughter North often encourages her to date again. “She just said to me the other day, ‘Mom, you’ve got to get remarried. You’re getting too old and no one is gonna deal with this,’” Kardashian recalled, laughing.

Looking back, she said she has no regrets. “An over-a-decade relationship with four beautiful children is not a failure,” Kardashian said.

She also spoke about moments that made her feel unsafe during the marriage — emotionally and financially. “I’d come home, and we had like five Lamborghinis. Then they’d all be gone if he was in an episode. I’d be like, ‘Where’s all our cars?’ and it would be like, oh, he gave them away to his friends,” she said. “You didn’t know what you were gonna get when you woke up, and that’s a really unsettling feeling.”

West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2018 following his album Ye, after a 2016 hospitalization for a “psychiatric emergency.”

Kardashian, now studying law, has plenty on her plate. She’s preparing for the season 7 premiere of The Kardashians on Oct. 23, and the Nov. 4 debut of her legal drama All’s Fair, which stars Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash-Betts, Sarah Paulson, Teyana Taylor, and more.

In a preview of the new Kardashians season, Kardashian appears emotional as she shares that she received “a call from investigators” claiming “someone extremely close to me put a hit out on my life.”

The footage shows her shaken as police arrive and camera crews surround the scene. Calling season 7 “a whole different beast,” Kardashian said it will capture both heavy and lighthearted moments — from her testimony in the 2016 Paris robbery trial to gatherings with her All’s Fair castmates at Kris Jenner’s home.

The Kardashians season 7 premieres Thursday, Oct. 23 on Hulu. All’s Fair debuts Nov. 4 on Hulu.
