Kimberly Guilfoyle has publicly commented for the first time on her ex-fiancé Donald Trump Jr.’s recent engagement.
Guilfoyle, 56, and Trump Jr., 48, became engaged on New Year’s Eve 2020 and shared the news publicly on New Year’s Day 2022. The couple later ended their relationship quietly in 2024. In December 2025, President Donald Trump revealed that his eldest son is now engaged to socialite Bettina Anderson, announcing the news at the White House on Dec. 15, 2025.
In an interview with The New York Times published Jan. 4, Guilfoyle was asked about the engagement and offered a brief response.
“I’m happy for Don,” she said. “I wish him, of course, all the best.”
A source previously said Guilfoyle was still processing the news and had concerns about Trump Jr.’s relationship with Anderson, even though the two maintain a friendly relationship.
“Kimberly knows Don well, and they’re still great friends, but she has major concerns when it comes to his relationship with Bettina,” the source said. “The engagement was difficult for Kimberly to see, and she felt it only added to her doubts about the relationship.”
Trump Jr.’s engagement comes about a year after he was photographed holding hands with Anderson. At the time, he and Guilfoyle had not publicly confirmed their split, though the breakup was later reported.
“She only wants the best for Don, but she isn’t convinced Bettina is well-suited for Don or that what they have is the real deal,” the insider added. “Kimberly has a hard time seeing the headlines about their relationship because she doesn’t believe it’s built to last.”

The source also claimed Guilfoyle believes Anderson is drawn to the status that comes with being connected to the Trump family.
“She feels Bettina is more interested in the prestige and attention that comes with being connected to the Trump family and doesn’t think she’d be with Don if it weren’t for that,” the source said.
The same source said it took time for Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. to fully separate their lives after the breakup.
“As recently as not that long ago, Kimberly and Don still hadn’t completely moved out of each other’s places, and Don still had many of his belongings at Kimberly’s home, including clothes and shoes,” the source said.
Separately, another source previously claimed President Trump approves of Anderson.
“The president is happy with the way Bettina looks, and wants his son to be satisfied in his next mate,” the source said.

The source also alleged the family’s initial enthusiasm for Guilfoyle faded over time, and claimed the president needed time to warm up to Anderson before ultimately accepting her.
Trump Jr. was previously married to Vanessa Trump for 12 years before she filed for divorce in 2018. They share five children: Kai, 18; Donald III, 16; Tristan, 14; Spencer, 13; and Chloe, 11.
