Buckingham Palace issued a carefully worded statement Monday expressing King Charles III’s concern over new allegations linked to his brother, Prince Andrew, and indicating the royal household would cooperate with police if asked.

The statement followed reports that Thames Valley Police are assessing a complaint alleging Prince Andrew shared confidential information during his past role as a trade envoy with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. Police have not announced charges, and the matter remains under review.

In its remarks, the palace said the King has demonstrated “profound concern” about allegations that continue to emerge regarding his brother’s conduct. While emphasizing that any specific claims are for Andrew to address personally, the statement said the palace would support law enforcement should authorities seek assistance.

The palace also reiterated a broader position it has adopted in recent years, stating that the King and Queen Camilla’s thoughts and sympathies “remain with the victims of any and all forms of abuse.” The wording echoed earlier royal statements made amid ongoing scrutiny of Andrew’s past associations.

The renewed attention comes as additional documents related to Epstein were recently released by the U.S. Department of Justice. Those materials again referenced Andrew and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, though they did not introduce new findings or legal conclusions.

Andrew stepped back from public royal duties in 2019 following widespread criticism of his ties to Epstein, who died in jail that year while awaiting trial on federal trafficking charges. In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II removed Andrew’s military titles and royal patronages after a U.S. judge allowed a civil lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre to proceed. Andrew has consistently denied wrongdoing and later reached a settlement without admitting liability.

Other members of the royal family have also acknowledged the issue in recent days, focusing their comments on concern for victims rather than the allegations themselves. The palace has not indicated whether further statements are planned as police review continues.
