President Donald Trump has achieved a statistical rarity in modern American politics: total, unanimous approval from his core base. Despite a public and vitriolic break with former media allies over the escalating conflict in Iran, a new NBC News survey reveals that 100% of self-identified MAGA voters approve of the President’s performance.
The data, released Wednesday, comes three weeks into a high-stakes military campaign that has redefined the geopolitical landscape. While the broader American public remains deeply fractured—with 54% of all voters disapproving of the Iran intervention—the MAGA movement has solidified into a monolithic pillar of support for the Commander-in-Chief.
The ‘Perfect Season’ of Polling
CNN senior data analyst Harry Enten described the figures as unprecedented, comparing Trump’s standing to the legendary 1972 Miami Dolphins.
“You don’t have to be a mathematical genius to know you can’t go higher than 100 percent,” Enten noted during a News Central broadcast. He emphasized that this is not an “artifact of a shrinking base.” On the contrary, the movement appears to be expanding; 30% of Americans now identify as MAGA supporters, up from 28% following the November 2024 election.
Fissures in the ‘MAGA-sphere’
The poll arrives as the administration faces a rare rebellion from high-profile conservative commentators. Since the U.S. and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury on February 28—resulting in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei—the “America First” coalition has split into two distinct camps: the loyalists and the isolationist critics.
- Tucker Carlson: The media mogul has condemned the campaign as “absolutely disgusting and evil,” alleging the administration is prioritizing foreign interests.
- Megyn Kelly: On The Megyn Kelly Show, the host criticized the sacrifice of American lives, stating, “No one should have to die for a foreign country.”
- Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene: The former staunch ally has accused the White House of being “hijacked” by neoconservatives, even using the derisive acronym “MIGA” (Make Israel Great Again) to describe the current policy.
Trump has remained characteristically dismissive of these critiques. “MAGA is Trump,” the President told reporters earlier this month. “MAGA’s not the other two,” he added, referring to Carlson and Kelly.
A Base Built on War and Loyalty
While traditional “establishment” Republicans show a 36% opposition rate to the strikes, the MAGA base remains defiant. According to the NBC data, 90% of MAGA voters specifically approve of the targeted strikes on Iran.
This internal cohesion suggests that for the core Trump voter, the definition of “America First” has shifted from strict isolationism to a doctrine of decisive, overwhelming military force.
“That 100%… is just an indication of how strong Donald Trump’s grip is on that base,” Enten concluded.
